Rio Extra Tour organized two wonderful customized sightseeing tours through Rio de Janeiro and the surrounding areas for my wife Marianne, son Daniel and our Brazilian friends Ligia and Tarsis. During the full-day tour we visited the main attractions Corcovado, Sugar Loaf and Maracan? Stadium. Other highlights have been the visit to the famous staircase Escardaria do Selaron and the really worth seeing district of Santa Teresa with the adjoining favela (slum area). Udo R?lleke was a congenial and more than perfect multi-lingual (German, English and Portuguese) city guide for us, who introduced us to the city of Rio de Janeiro attractions in all facets. The Mercedes minibus driver Raimundo was also extremely likeable and a very experienced car driver. So it was no wonder that we spent a very pleasant and really informative visiting day in the Brazilian metropolis. The second half-day tour with the very likeable guide Anderson was also perfect organized. He guided my son Daniel and our friends Ligia and Tarsis to the Pedra Bonita hang gliders jumping field at the Tijuca Forest, Barra da Tijuca, Olympic Park, Jacarepagu?, Prainha Beach, Receiro dos Bedeirantes and Grumari. Anderson leave nothing unattempt for creating an unforgettable afternoon and was able to record absolute satisfaction in all respects. Udo R?lleke and his lovely Brazilian wife Marion as well as Anderson are excellent guides for Rio de Janeiro and all the attractions around. There-fore I can highly recommend to book Rio Extra Tour for sightseeing tours in RJ.

It was an experience of a life time for us - we have to fly 24 hrs to reach Rio from our city- only have a day to spare in Rio due to our tight schedule Booked a private tour through Rio Extra after researching the web - we are not Wrong - the tour was up to our expectations Anderson was an excellent guide - try his very best to communicate with us in English- we understood each other very well Rio was a lovely city - the sambadrome experience was added bonus as our timing for the visit was excellent- both Anderson & Udo accompanied us to the grandstand- make us feel very comfortable in a strange environment The tour inclusive of ticket to Sambadrome was value for money- thumbs up to you Anderson and of course Rio Extra Tour Will definitely recommend my friends to you in future.

We really enjoyed the special Tour in Rio with Anderson. We have been to Rio before. So we decided to make another Tour through this fantastic city mainly by car and by foot. Very enjoyable. We give our feedback right now, because we are just back from our world cruise.

Our ship was late disembarking and so we were thrilled to see that our guide Anderson was still waiting with our names and a big smile. I had listed the things we didn't want to go to, and some of the things we did, and then left it to the company to surprise us. They'd taken note of all my requests. The car was comfortable and roomy enough to take all our luggage. The windows were tinted and the car was locked securely whenever we left it. Anderson was an excellent driver and speaks English well. He knows his city well, told us many interest ing stories, knew just the right places to park or pull up for the very best views without any crowds.He slowed down or was happy to stop whenever I wanted to take photos. He even took photos of us - a rare event, and they are already in our photobook. We didn't want to spend time on a lavish lunch, so he took us to an up-market bakery and cafe, where we enjoyed freshly made sandwiches, and delicious brownies. The entire day felt unrushed with time to really feel as if we'd seen a good deal of this vibrant city. And finally, he drove us to the airport, with plenty of time to check in and relax before our flight. We can't speak highly enough of this company, and the cost of our tour was a fraction of that others paid through the ship's tour program. I would recommend Rio Extra Tour to anyone - and have been doing so, even before we arrived in Rio, and to anyone else we know who will be going there soon. Our compliments to Anderson, Marion, and to the entire company. An excellent job well done.

Our thanks to Anderson and Rio Extra Tour for a wonderful day in Rio last week. Anderson is professional, personable, knowledgeable and went out of his way to show us exciting sights of Rio. He picked us up on time at our hotel, drove us all over Rio for a whole day of sight-seeing and even took us shopping to find a sports jersey for a friend in Florida. We were very lucky to find this tour. Our tour guide Anderson managed very well so that we could visit the places where we wanted to go within one day. Moreover he took us the place only local knew (at least Japanese guidebook doesn't introduce) and explained about Rio's history and culture very well. So we enjoyed and learnt a lot ! You can discuss to design your travel beforehand with them and for sure they can give you a lot of options according to your interest and hobby.

We had the most amazing time in Rio thanks to Anderson and Udo. Anderson took us around the entire city for 2 full days and showed us all the amazing sights of Rio. He knew the perfect spots to take us, was extremely helpful, very personable, knew very good English and helped us click some amazing photos of Rio to take back as memories. We felt safe all the time with him around and he also took us to local places to try local cuisine. I dont think Rio wouldve been so amazing if not for Anderson. Our guide, Anderson, was great, very likeable and very nice. We arrived in Rio from a cruise and left Rio via plane at night. So we had a whole day and Anderson showed us the most beautiful points. Udo and Anderson and actually everyone here are very very nice. Udo was immediately responsive to any and all questions and Anderson showed me everything that I needed to see. They speak really good English which helped a ton because the language barrier was much more difficult than I expected. Anderson never rushes and knows much more than a local Uber or taxi. Using again for sure.

My private guide Anderson did an excellent job. I was very happy and satisfied because I was able to see most of the sights that I needed to see. He treated me like his own friend. I would like to get him again as my guide when I come back to Rio and I will highly recommend him to my friends.

This tour is ideal for individual travellers who have only 1-3 days for Sightseeing in Rio. The guides are most flexible, friendly and with a sense of humour making the City tour most pleasant. We could do the "must sees" within our 2 days stay in a very comfortable way and could profit of the guides knowledge about the city in general and it's hot spots and also that we could have the tour in German language. I had a very nice tour. I've been in Rio for few days. And I've already seen some sights. The Christ Statue of course because it was my bigger desire. The steps of Selaron, The Center. Was a big surprise my last day with Anderson because he showed me things that I couldn't imagine. The Tijuca Park, The Beach in Barra and the Pedra Bonita to see the paragliders. It was amazing. It would be just a tour to spend time because my flight was confirmed to the night and my check out in the hotel 12 am. But he surprised me. Thank you Anderson. I hope come back soon. Stephany

My husband and I were with Anderson for two full days in Rio de Janeiro. There could be no better way to know the marvelous city. Punctual, honest, considerate and extremely dedicated. Best Extra Tour The day trip with Anderson was great. He answered all our individual desires, did not bother us with standards and showed us corners of Rio, which you do not see at first sight. With the car we were flexible and could drive up to the Olympic Village (although not worth it, but we had wanted to see this and you could tell us some of the time of the Olympics and the development afterwards). Whether you want to stop the train in Santa Teresa, lure the monkeys in the Tijuca forest, or have a freshly squeezed fruit juice put together for us - you have followed us throughout the day and told us about your life in Rio. 3 Wonderful Days in Rio. We came accross RIOEXTRATOUR by surfing on the internet. Their home page with beautiful photos and excellent text attracted our attention. We booked them for 3 all-day tours plus the transfers from the airport and back to the cruise harbour. Our excellent guide for the entire time was ANDERSON. He is very knowledgeable and speaks fluent English. He gave us a perfect time and was doing everything to show us the most. We saw a lot more than we would have seen with those tours by bus. In a private tour you can stay at every stop as long or as short as you wish. And you do not loose endless time waiting for the last passenger to be back on the bus. If you have more than one day in Rio, we recommend that you do Corcovado and Sugarloaf on two different days .This gives you the opportunity to get to both main attractions in the morning before the crowds of tourists arrive. We filled the times after these two highlights with extensive visits to other very nice spots. It would be too extensive to list them all in detail. But the spots recommended by EXTRATOUR are a very good choice. Anderson was also very helpful in getting things done like buying a Brasilian phone card or exchanging money. If you plan to get a local phone card for your cellphone, it is imperative to bring your passport. (we learned it the hard way!!) With Anderson we also enjoyed excellent and typical lunches and dinner at restaurants, where tourist not usually would end up. The third day was a trip into the countryside, the Imperial City of Petropolis. A very nice spot in the mountains, where the (portuguese) - brasilian Emperor Pedro had his summer castle. And as usual, the fancy and rich citizens had to build their homes all around the place to "rub ellbows" with the Emperor and his Entourage. All together a very nice trip away from the bustling city of Rio. We can highly recommend RIOEXTRATOUR. If you are a group of 2 or 3 you get a lot more out of both your time and your money with these private tours. After this excellent experience we were hiring private guides all along the stops during the following cruise to Uruguay and Buenos Aires.

I only had 1 day to see the sights and I managed to see everything I wanted to. Anderson helped me avoid the lines and did everything to avoid the morning mist and get the best views. He is a friendly guide who knows his city very well. And he made the whole day extremely fun. Thank you very much!
